Helped a friend barrel a 20 Vartarg with Xcaliber barrel back before spring. He is loving that rifle shooting Groundhogs this summer. I watched him connect on one the other evening at 455yds. Groundhog never knew what hit him. 20 Vartarg is Amazing!

Hey Chance - the VT never ceases to amaze and I burned 500 rounds last month in Wyoming... But I still think around here with the size of groundhogs, the 20 TAC with a little heavier bullet is the ticket. (Still have that stainless Remington we talked about)

Ken you are right the 20 TAC is a better longer range Groundhog caliber than the 20 Vartarg but that little round is amazing. I have not forgot the Remington stainless. Thanks

Chance - the Remington is gone... Hope you get your arsenal back in order after the vehicle repairs and holler if we can get together with GHD to shoot a few ghogs before fall.

New 20 Vartarg Build in the making. I have a Xcaliber 11 twist 3 groove barrel in my South Bend Heavy 10 lathe I already threaded up for a CZ 527 action. It's a number 5 contour stainless blank. Should have it chambered up and crowned tomorrow evening and ready to shoot!

Default 20 Vartarg

You are going to come that 20 Vartarg, with the twist, etc you choose. Be sure and try some AA2200 in your loads and testing/working up loads. Enjoy. Bill K

New CZ 527 20 Vartarg Xcaliber 11 twist is shooting very well with 35 gr Bergers and 39 Sierras both with H4198. I have tested AA2200 and accuracy is better so far with H4198. Two Groundhogs have been shot with it at 250 and 280 yards.
