I think the problem is that Burris doesn't make an offset ring. Larry

I wanted to stick with this base, but I may have to get a Weaver style base. Bases for 788's seems to be getting harder to find. I called Leupold and they told me to shim up the rear of the one piece base, that doesn't seem to make sense to me with a one piece base. Maybe I should just lap the heck out of it and call it good.

Think you don't quite get it, he is referring to something like this, offset to make the rings closer together or farther apart. Larry
