What's everyone using for a bore guide on these?

Forgot about the rootbeer in the bore, got a solid hour in on cleaning it and the patches are still as black as............

Chuck

I found Butch's Bore Shine with Kroil works real well to get that stuff out. Put them on the patch, soak liberally, let sit for a couple of hours, brush with a nylon brush then patch out. A couple of applications and mine came out whistle clean. As to bore guide, just the usual Dewey steel ones with the adjustable collet.

Grab a dial caliber and head for the nearest sporting goods store.
Find an arrow shaft that fits you, cut it to length and use.

If you can or knows someone that can then add a piece of plastic that centers the tube in your action.

I just drill a piece of brass to fit the rod and put it in the chamber when I clean. Larry

+1 on Kroil for cleaning the "root beer" from a new CZ barrel. Good choice of words, Chuck.

You weren't kidding about the deeper pockets. Pretty ritzy price range at $60 a pop and on top of it they don't have any in stock. The Dewey 22 Hornet one works fine and it was only $20.

"Ouch"!!
Greg Tannel made this for my CZ .20 VarTarg for $25.00, last one I got not all that long ago had gone up to $35.00, it protects the whole chamber and squares the neck opening with the throat. I think Kenny took to making these for awhile.

Be that as it may, on my 527 .17 Hornet I am using a delrin guide I got from Sinclair I believe that was fit to the .17 Ackley Hornet and it even has a little groove that locks it into place in the action so ya have to push the bolt release to take it out works great.

Default Best bore guide IMHO...

I have and love the one Roy makes and sell on his web site. http://rvbprecision.com/shooting/bor...hmr-rifle.html
Fits my CZ 527 like a glove…

James Calhoon does a nice one, with 0 rings to seal in the chamber, and a bush to lock it in place.
