When and if we find out who it is, I just want to know if Todd had a big stash of J4's that are still being used or not. If not, probably not interested in refreshing my supply anyway. Definitely not, at the price Todd was charging last I heard.

Will depend a lot on exactly who is making them too. Not everyone can take good dies and good jackets and make good bullets with them.

But if he's using the J4's, knows, or at least learns how to make good bullets, and doesn't price himself out of consideration, I wouldn't mind setting a stash of 30 Gold's back on the shelf against a rainy day. Have killed over 400 coyote with them and do like them quite a bit.

I messaged the guy on FB about it. He doesn't have much to say about anything at all so maybe he's a friend or a middle man I don't know. Here's the phone number he gave me 254-431-9757, hours of operation 8am to 8 pm Monday thru Friday. I havnt called yet so I don't know a thing other than that.

Todd told me that the man who bought his bullet making business is getting organized and will in a couple of weeks announce the opening of his new business. I do not know his name or where he lives.

We owe much thanks to all the custom bullet makers. I cannot imagine the problems they at-least sometimes face dealing with bullet jacket supplier(s), their time learning how to prepare custom bullets, etc. Their willingness to proceed is to be appreciated and thanked!

As you know it is unfortunate that some bullet maker(s) have dropped various weights and styles of 17s ;20s and 22 bullets that leaves small caliber shooters with much less to choose.

Todd had no 17 cal 30 g Gold bullets left.

Is it possible to have a thread that lists-features the various custom bullet makers with the calibers, weights and contact information?
Thanks!
Jim

30 grain, Kindler is out, Berger is out.

As far as I know that leaves Blackhole Bullets and Chan Nagel.

And Chan was out recently due to jacket problems. Not sure if he's back up and producing again yet or now.

Default No Golds

It appears that the person who bought the Woodchuck Den Gold Bullet business is in NO hurry to make bullets, if ever!
Are there any 30 g .17 bullets that are close to the Golds?
Thanks!
Jim

I shot some Reed 29 grain 17's in a factory Rem 700 LV 17 Rem and they were very accurate, sub half moa in a factory rifle. The owner of the gun says they are very fur friendly also. I just know they shot well.
