Aaron it's going to be a 17 Lovell once the reamer comes in. If Manson is on time then ''maybe'' in a couple weeks Eddie can start on it. I need to dig out a blank and get it turned also.

Ray,

Is that on the 22/3000 necked up? If so, is basic brass around? I once bought some 22/3000(Copes is on the dies as well) dies for ten bucks just to try to figure what it was....box has R2 on it; and 22/3000......so far have not won that battle...........but as you know, dies lead to rifles, which is not all that bad really.....

Pretty unique chambering......17 Lovell..........I like it...........

special rifles/chamberings is kinda a passion thing, a spice of life to be sure.

Rick

Rick the parent case is the 25-20 Single Shot case, The 22-3000 cases were neck down from that. By chance does your cases have GH 22-3000 head stamp. I have some of these also. The R 2 Lovell is different from the 22-3000. The 17 Lovell is, I think, necked down from R 2 Lovell. Jamison Brass is making new 25-20 S.S. brass. I think it's around 1.50 apiece so you don't want to mess up many. I got lucky and got a set of dies off Saubier some time back. Rick I like the looks of the R 2 Lovell.

Ray,

Not sure what my dies are for sure. They say 22/3000 on the dies and the word "Copes". As I recall running some kind of brass(not the right kind) produced a sharpish shoulder..........so perhaps might be the R2 variant.

No 25-20 SS brass here, only the dies bought on a lark. Will keep the sources in mind though that you kindly mentioned.

Maybe some day will get ambitious, in the mean time, will watch you taking the lead.......... It will be special I am sure.

Rick

Chad, I haven't pulled a trigger since the end of Apr. I've been trying to get my new reloading rm and wood shop done before the snow flies.
