There will be several changes to the 527's in general as well...may get even more converts for those that normally have offended eyes by the magazine well & the 5 shot magazine hanging down etc.
Gonna cut into my side job......

At the Gunsmith's yesterday and we talked 6.5 Grendel, he's big on it for a light weight bolt action but isn't too hot on it from a AR for medium game. Dang it all this is apt to get expensive, lol.

He put together a 6.5 G on the Zastava Mini action for a handicapped friend of ours, with a 21 inch light barrel that he says stacks bullets at 200 yards, strictly a hunting rig but very accurate he advised. Advised the recoil wasn't bad at all.

Had an interesting talk with a gent in Reidsville NC yesterday, he has a 6.5 Grendel AR with a 18" stainless barrel and showed a couple of 200 yard groups that a nickel would cover, told of a 287 yard night time kill on a Coyote with it. Definitely got my attention, his isn't insanely heavy like many I've seen, oh the wallet is trembling in fear already.

My 18" 6.5 Grendel doesn't shoot quite that well, and so far I haven't found a better shooting load than the factory Hornady 123 gr. Amax factory load that chronographs at 2454 fps. That said, sub .75 MOA out of a light AR platform with factory ammo is still more accuracy than one can generally make use of in the field.

Had an interesting discussion with a local gun writer over coffee the other day. He extolled the virtues of the 6.5x55, but couldn't see the value in the 6.5 Grendel. Most of this was over the hunting history of the 6.5x55 with the high SD 156 gr. loads. Folks on the Grendel forum have reported getting 2350 fps with 140 gr. bullets, and interestingly enough the 156 RN 6.5mm bullet isn't any longer that the 123 Amax bullet. It would be interesting to see if the standard Grendel throat would allow the 156 gr. bullet to be seated at magazine length.
If so, it would only be about 200 fps behind the 6.5x55 and about on par with the 6.5x54MS in carbine configurations.
