Arron
Thanks for the heads up. I was getting real low and for once got there in time. Powder has gotten to be a little like sex and credit. When you got it you don't need it, when you need it you can't get it.
Thanks
Bob

For $280 per 8lbs I'll use something else.
Plus Haz Mat

Appreciate the heads up, I've been looking for this powder for 4-5 years to try in my 17AH's. Bought 2 lbs. just for these rifles, if my math is correct it's good for 1150 rounds. Have to ignore the hazmat cost, it's a necessary evil for the VV powders in my neck of the woods. gotta pay if ya wanna play

Unless you are pushing 25grain pills it is useless!

Just to slow for 20grainers.

How is it useless? There are quite a few guys here that use it just fine. Have you tried it in a .17AH or just going by what quickload says?

Gosh, I sure would hate to argue with a computer program page about how my rifle feels about N120 but.......I have a tight chambered, zero free-bore, Pac-Nor 3 groove barreled, .17 Ackley Hornet on a CZ 527 American that uses N120 in WW cases with WSR primers to push 20 grain V-Max's at 3,780ishFPS and piles 5 of em in on top of each other with great regularity at 100 yards ("Boy", that was a mouthful!). A gophers worst nightmare as it were ! I have cases in there that have shot that load 8 times and counting so useless as N120 may be in a .17 Ackley Hornet I think I'll keep using it .

I was thinking the same thing since the one and only time I chronoed my 17AH loads I got an average of right at 3700 fps for 50 rounds. Still have about 10 lbs. left so won’t be jumping on the 38 bucks a pound price. I like it so much I’d buy if I needed it for that price, but think it’s a bit of a rip off…

Apparently my Cooper didn't get the word it wasn't supposed to shoot 20 gr. Bergers and N120. As to the price of the powder, I think most would agree its the least expensive part of a rather expensive hobby.
