30 grain bullet in the 17 ackley hornet
Im just wondering if anyone has shot or is shooting 30grn bullets in your 17 ackley hornet. I realize that the 30 grainer is probably not the optimum bullet weight but I am looking for a good fox bullet that might buck the wind a bit better. I would be interested in hearing your experiences with this combination. Thanks.

sure..
shot Bergers and Golds out of my 9" twist 17AH. 4198 [short cut] and it shot into one hole with a 'medium' load. Always thought it would make a great coyote load but only shot a few groups with it, succesfully!

I shoot 30 grain Berger moly's...Cooper 38, 9 twist with AA2200 and Rem 7.5 primers....very accurate at the longer ranges.

I have not checked the speed of the 30s in my AH but they shoot very well. I hunt tree squirrels with AH reduced loads and always carry a half dozen full charge 30 grainers since the eastern coyote invasion. Check the stats. The 30s look good at reasonable ranges. Kenny

30 grn bergers
I never got very good accuracy with any 30 grainers in my MGM barrel 1x9 twist. for me the 20 grn v-max are the best in the accuracy department. The 30 grn chronyed around 3200 but i forget the load i could try to look it up. I took a few fox with the hornadys at up to 200 yds and they were stone dead
