I would prefer wood stock but recognize their factory finish needs work.
No matter what you decide I all applaud your plan.

+1 on the Cooper!
I have a M52 in 30/06 and a 54 in 7mm/08, both with wood stocks. I've zero problems or issued with their wood finish.
You'll never lookback.

Near as I can tell, there really is no appreciable price difference between a Cooper M54 or a custom on a Stiller/Shilen/Pierce or most of the Sako's. Obviously this thread is no longer about the Nosler rifles!

Pros:
Cooper/Sako, hold value better.
Custom, possibly more personal.

Thanks to EVERONE here!

Had an L61R .338 Win which was excellent but it had a noisemaker on the end. The T3 lite .338W is almost as accurate but kicks a bit.

On a BC it's a metal bed. Also Jewells are nice but them dirty and they crap the bed.

I have handled and shot a couple of Nosler rifles, and to me they are just overpriced Howas.

Default Nosler Rifles

You guys have really dashed my admiration for Nosler rifles Do we have certain facts that they're using Howa actions? I do own a Sanctuary Edition of which they built 25 but have never shot it since in my mind it is a beautiful rifle and I have no plans to hunt with it. Shaw barrels, would they really go that low? I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes with that last question.

Adam, just for the record: Nosler uses Pac-Nor barrels on all their rifles, the action is machined for them per their drawings, and is not a Howa.

But I'm with you on your suggestion to Ramos to build a custom for his son.

Good to note, I thought they were using Shaw's, but YOU know Nosler
