Reminiscing
Well today is the first day I've had off work in over 3 weeks and luckily my wife didn't have any jobs planned for me.........although I did mow the jungle during the week.
So I thought I'd just chill and take a day of relaxation..........anyway I sat down at the computer and was looking for something when I got sidetracked by some old photos, which got me to reminiscing about a time before I knew of Saubier..............but I did know about Coopers and small calibers. Although I didn't own anything smaller in bore size than a 22 at the time. This thread will contain quite a few photos that aren't shooting related so if you want me to quit then just say so. 2005 was a magnificent year for me, I got married in January (little did she know what she let herself in for), latter that year I took my wife half way around the world to look at a few sights in the USA. We started in LA and since we were there for a few days we spent a bit of time wandering the streets.............of Disneyland. Well 2005 was a big event for Disneyland it was the 50th Anniversary Everything at Disneyland was big and extravagant that year, from the fireworks displays to the parades Last edited by Kiwishooter; 10-09-2016 at 04:57 AM. |

I've been within 5 blocks of there when trucking and had
no desire to "play Kids". Glad you two have gotten around the world like you have. Am half glad I don't live where you do and need transmission work! Or I'd be one of those folks financing your trips!! Wish you and 'Shorty" the best for many more years and such trips.

We spent two days at Disneyland and during those two days we clocked up a few miles and spent a bit of time waiting in lines.
But we managed to partake in all the rides, like splash mountain and others And took in all the marvelous sights Some of the photos Which created some of the artwork, hard to believe all those photos looked like this from a distance Last edited by Kiwishooter; 10-09-2016 at 04:58 AM. |

If things work out I'd like to come over for the Banana Coast shoot, so if I do perhaps I can fit a fox hunt in then. Quote:
As for pay rate I'm probably earning $12 an hour before taxes, but don't tell the government because thats well below the minimum wage here. Thing is I haven't got time to spend it while working so many hours. |

Kiwi:
I know the deal on working and not having time to enjoy the proceeds. Re: 29 hour days, 11 days a week, it sure seemed that way running my own business. Then the hammer dropped! It's even harder laying in bed in traction watching the business go down the drain. Hope you never have to go thru that trip mate.

During the 50th anniversary celebrations the parade was huge and there were two shows every evening.
During the day we took a cruise on the paddle boat You can see the crowds coming in and filling the streets for the evening shows After the fireworks display we sat and watched the crowds........it was nice to just sit and relax after a full day of walking around in the Ca heat. A couple of years latter my wife and I stopped in at Adventureland (the adult side of Disneyland) and since we finished all the rides by lunchtime we went into Disneyland again. The parade was really disappointing and there weren't any free evening shows. Made us glad about our previous visit. |

After two days of Disneyland it was time to go and visit Universal studios.
We were taken there on a bus and the driver had a good sense of humour and was also full of information, like the bit about jumping the gap in the uncompleted freeway in the film speed. Where Gilligan Island was filmed and a whole lot more. Some of the best advise was that when you enter Universal Studios, ignore everything at the front and head toward the rides at the back...........so we did........down there are the rides and the lines were real short so it didn't take too long to do all the rides. We got soaked on the Jurrasic park ride but due to the heat it didn't take too long to dry off..............and due to the heat line up for another ride and get soaked again Of course we had to pose with the celebs for the mandatory photo After the rides it was a tour of the backlot, where we almost got washed away in a flash flood Further on the water parted so we could cross |

Reminiscing..
Kiwi. Any photo's, as far as I am concerned, of the ventures of our fellow shooters, their trips and information, is fine with me.
Did the Disneyland and other sites, all over that area, a few years back with the kids, when they were young. Fun times. Did you see the nighttime light parade, or was it all over ( hear they are no longer doing it) . That was also very nice to see. Anyway, post away. Bill K |
