Bill yes we saw the night time light show and the fireworks show. I have recommended Disneyland and Universal Studios to several people and all have come back and said they had a wonderful time.

Now everyone should know this house, It's the Bates house from Phsyco

We also took in a show based on Waterworld, it included people getting set on fire

Planes crashing through the wall

And of course it wouldn't be a good show without explosions and fire

We were in the USA so we had to take the time to pose with some american muscle

And of course the proof we were their

now after a day in the hot Ca sun we came out on City Walk, first pit stop was for a fruit smoothie.........now that smoothie was the best smootie I've ever had

we also found the Hard Rock Cafe

On the bus trip to Universal Studios our bus driver made us remember 3 numbers, the first number was 6.30pm, the second number was 67 and the third number was $456.00 (I think)

Now the story goes, the bus will be leaving at 6.30pm sharp. If you get back to where the bus is parked at 6.32pm you will see the number 67 on the rear of the bus that is leaving. Now if you do miss the bus the taxi fare back to where you got on the bus is $456.00 so please make sure you still have that much money in your pocket if you see the rear of the bus leaving before calling a taxi.

Kiwi:

Thanks for sharing your trips with us.
I've been around the country a whole lot but, never had
time to stop and play tourist. Had to get the loads to
destination. So a great many of these places I've never
been able to see even when driving right by the front gate
to many of them.

Glad you two get to make such trips so often. Hope it
continues many more years.

Pete, getting away from work at the moment is a problem, but I'm taking a week off in November for the PRSC in Canberra.

If things work out I'd like to come over for the Banana Coast shoot, so if I do perhaps I can fit a fox hunt in then.
Not wanting to give you sad news but the Banana Coast Championships were held in August

Just about every weekend in November is Club Championships. But if you turn up I will slip you in and tell everyone you are new

We are planning on going away to get a few foxes the 5th and 6th of November. The only but in that is it has been very wet and we are hoping the farm will be dry enough to drive around. Do not want to be bogged to the floor pan again

Pete

Pete, I was thinking about the Bnanacoast shoot next year.......if I can get time off.

After visiting Disneyland and Universal it was back to LAX and the rental car company to pick up a car.........thankfully there was a very helpful assistant who managed to have a vehicle groomed and prepped for us to take away. Since we weren't dropping it off in Ca we weren't allowed a Ca registered rental car.

After getting that sorted we head out of LA and ended up at

Stovepipe Wells for the night, I have to say the best service we ever recieved was from a gentleman who looked after us at breakfast, it was a real eye opener

Of course Stovepipe Wells is located in

We don't see roads as straight as this for as far as the eye can see here in NZ

Death Valley was rather picturesque and the landscape kept on changing

After breakfast at Stove-pipe Wells we headed toward Scotty's Castle

It wasn't easy to get any good photos inside as the curtains are always drawn and the lights aren't exactly bright........what we found inside was original furnishings and awesome woodwork

shucks from the pictures I've seen of NZ you don't have room enough
between the rock piles for a straight road! Right?

OK I will save you a few foxes for next year

I tried to talk an unemployed transmission mechanic to go see you in NZ but would not leave Oz for a job. He mumbled something about all his family being here or some such rubbish

Well Pete:
IF he's like that, no use asking if he'd come
over here and fix the one in my old black work
truck!
Been wondering if i'd buy the kit, if kiwi might do
it on his next trip over.

George might be a while before I manage another trip to the US

At Scotty's Castle they generated their own power

There must've been a reason for all those sleepers

At some point I would hazard a guess that these actually drove from somewhere to here
