I am ignorant here. What is the advantage of the radius shoulder?

Easier forming, as the brass flows around the radius. Downside is that it can be tough to easily tell how far back the shoulder is being set. makes it a trial and error sort of thing I'd imagine.

Wow, someone just informed me of this posting in asking if I still make these dies. I do in fact still make these dies, and let me clear one thing up, the shoulders on the inserts are in fact 30 degree, they have a slight radius at the shoulder body junction, and at the shoulder, neck junction, I did this to promote brass flowage while forming. You can use a headspace gauge or a previously fired case when setting up the die to form your brass. These dies make perfect rounds for fire forming, they are not dies for standard reloading and "bumping" of the shoulder. I get a lot of questions on that topic. Of all the items that I have introduced to the shooters, this one gives me the most gratifications, because I know the tireless hours I spent getting the initial tooling set up to do this project, and in the end I know that everyone using them to the full potential of the die knows that it is an invaluable tool to have. Default Pbike257 set back/neck dies.

I bought a set, bought a bud a set. Sliced bread is waaay back in second place. They "seemed spendy" to me at first glance, but with more than a few years turning handles whittling metal, I changed my mind when I thought about it.
I'll be so bold as to say this can be as important to a 'Catter as having several flavors of powder and primers. It is just too easy to take a couple pcs of old brass and do some "what iffing". Taking the concept from a mental image or a sketch to pieces in hand to throw a caliper on......Priceless.

At the request of another member, I am now making my current wildcat shoulder setback die body to accept .22 hornet, 5.7x28, and 4.6x30. You'll be able to size down to .20 or to .17 cal.

Thank you,
Paul

so I measured the 4.6x30, the 5.7x28, and the hornet. I'll be able to offer 1 die that will size any of those 3, down to a body length of .650 ish. This die will of course also be able to keep them the same length and anywhere in between, while having the capability of sizing the necks down to .17 caliber. This die will use the same insert bushings as the previous wildcat dies I have sold. And it will be available pretty quick here.

I was able to build those die bodies for sizing Hornet, 4.6x30 hk, and 5.7x28 fn back. You'll be able to do 6mm, 22 cal, 20 ca, or 17 caliber. The dies are off to heat treat monday am, but out of the testing came this batch of hornets with .650 body length. I guess I should have thrown a quarter on the towel for size comparison... but I didn't have one handy... believe me they're small. You guys will love them.
