Good review Roy!! Very well put together. I have had my Hawkeye for the past 8+ years now, so I am set...but this is good info for others who are considering the need for a bore-scope. As for quality/functionality, it's the age-old problem of "you get what you pay for" I guess. Just depends on how a person wants to go about it. Snappy, cheap fishing lures are kind of like that too. They usually catch more fishermen than fish

Good stuff Roy- I was especially grateful for your journey into PP bullets. I-too started my 'accuracy run with PP bullet and black powder' AFTER reading Paul Mathews book "The Paper Jacket".

I use wax paper disks above the powder & below the lube ball using bullets from with a 4 cavity Lyman mould we recut with a re-ground twist drill. Using the .003" rag paper I had on hand, the .438" bullets (460gr. small cavity and 580gr. heavy ones) came just to scrape the lands in my Hotch Barrel. This rifle, with a full case of 122gr. in "Bell Labs" cases gave me 5 shot groups averaging 1 1/2" and as small as 1" using aperture sights. The 14 pound Rolling block was easy to shoot with these loads.
The very best part of that whole learning curve, was these groups were made shooting 'dirty'. I could fire up to 10 rounds in a row and ALL the fouling wiped out with one clean patch, then simply carry on shooting.

Thanks for the article on making your mould. I also made one similar to it, in brass ans in .50 cal that went with that rifle (.50 Alaskan) when I sold it.

Thanks Ray! Great review. I'm going to check #2 out. I'm hoping that I can use it with a Mac. I've been using a ProVision 300 that for the last 10 years, but they went out of business last year and it's too big at 5.8mm OD for .22 Cal and smaller.

Update: Ok, I found #2 on Amazon, a few more $ than what Roy paid, but same specs and features.

I have beaucoup pin gauges, so I am set for the reflectors.

As far as I know, none of these inexpensive scopes work with a MAC....The two I bought do not. I have a MacBook Air I wanted to use them with. No joy!
