20-223
I know this to work in a 20 Practical. H-4198 and IMR 8208 XBR for 39 and 40 gr bullets.

Mule, most guys take the load data from the standard 20 Practical and work up with the improved cartridge. Google some data/loading sites and work from there, with the powder you want to use.

20TAC load data is a good reference also. The two are very similar with AI version able to take .5 gr to maybe a grain more powder. Benchmark, AA2520 and H4895 are all good for this application.

When it’s all said and done, re TAC 20 you really are hard pressed to do better than R10X, in that I can push the 40 Vmax to slightly better than 3900 fps.

In the 20-223AI you can push the 39 Sierra BK over 4,000fps with +/- 28grs H4895 with good accuracy and still safe pressure. 28grs will be all you can get in the case and seat the bullet on top. IIRC I ended up at 27.8grs just to make it a little easier to load.

Platapus posted a great thread a while ago on load development with his 20-223 AI. Good info there for bullets in the 40gr range.

No primer, extraction or brass issues after repeated firings.

SmokinJoes correct, He turned me on to shooting H 4895 in my 20-223 AI several years ago and it's been my go to load. Shot 1000-1500 rounds so far with no issues and consistently getting over 4000 FPS with 40 gr V max and 39 gr Blitz kings. Great load in the little 20-223 AI. Thanks Joe
