Was it Davis? If not, I'll have to think about it a while longer. As I recall, he was big into Remington XPs. He made a bedding block out of aluminum for an XP that I made into a rifle. Used to see him at our rifle club on occasion but haven't seem him for a while. Nice guy.

Default .219 Wasp

17VLD is right, I do enjoy seeing others shooting and loading for the .219 Wasp. I have some loads that I listed in a PM reply on another forum a few years ago.
http://forum.accurateshooter.com/thr...loads.3754163/
I shot the 29.3gr N135 50gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for several years till the throat was gone then switched to the 55gr V-max with 31.5gr N140 or 32.0gr Varget.
the 55gr loads would probably be too high pressure without the freebore of the worn throat.
I also had a 18" Bullberry TC barrel in .219 Wasp for a few years. It liked lighter bullets with slower powder. The most accurate load was 32.0gr N140 with 40gr Ballistic Tip. It had the Bullberry forend hanger with one of there long forends. I shot it with pistol grip off Harris bipod with 3-9 Burris pistol scope. Best groups were around .5" at 100 yds.

Default .219 Wasp fps

My accuracy load of 29.3gr N135 50gr ballistic tip ran 3560fps out of the 27" barrel on my Ruger No.3. Other loads approached 3650fps and never showed signs of excess pressure. I found loads with 55gr bullets that exceeded 3500fps in my records when the barrel was fairly new. After 5000 rounds I was only getting about 3400 with the 55gr V-max, but it was still shooting .6 groups so I kept shooting PD's for a few more years with it.
I can't find any velocity records for the 18"TC barrel, they must have went with the barrel when I traded it for a 6.5 Bulberry Imp. match barrel about 20 years ago. It seems like I was getting about 3500fps with the mild 40gr ballistic tip load.
