Default PPC/ Bee Bolt

I am sure someone here has tired it, will the Bee case get pulled via PPC bolt face? They are only .048" different, where the difference is .024" between the PPC and BR cases. Just checking, if so I might add another barrel to herd. Adam

Adam I tried it in my Farley bolt, It didnt work very well on this particular bolt. Just not enough extractor bite on the rim. A lot of people use the .473 bolts with the PPC with no problems.

PPC being pulled by the BR is what gave me the idea. Maybe the Sako extractor will do better. Adam

Bruce at Bat and I had a similar conversation recently and he seemed to think a 5.7x28 boltface would pull a Bee case.

I think it will, I have heard that if you have a 5.7x28 BF you can pull Rigby cases too. LOL!

I have a Lawton PPC action and yes it will extract a Bee case. If I were to use the Bee case in the lawton action I would mill the sako extractor pocket a little deeper to catch more of the rim but it would work the way it is.
I have 4 standard bolt face actions Hart Bat and lawton that will not work.

If you want a little rimmed cartridge but don't insist on a Bee, the 22 Jet Improved (or 22-256 Magnum) is almost visually indistinguishable from a Bee Improved, but with a rim only a few thousandths smaller than the PPC.

A factory Sako extractor works perfectly on a Bee case. I've re-barreled 2 579's to .17AB and they both worked fine. The only trouble I had was trying to make it work with a Hornet case with a replacement extractor and now I need another replacement 579 extractor - lost the original.
