LOL! It was always amazing to watch all that lead fly without anyone getting hit. Not a very good testimonial for the Mini-14, IMO, but it was fun to watch back in the day.

It gets to my FFL Monday. Gotta dig up a 12x scope/mounts and I want to install an adjustable gas block. That's it, maybe a new grip, nothing that can have a positive effect on the accuracy. I can load anything I want, he's buying high end box ammo. Just got back from a BSA campout put on by the North Texas Orienteering Association and drove by our local range and he was there. Practice makes perfect!

Go to the Sierra book and check out the accuracy load for 52Gr SIE MK's. It's with N133. I think 23.8 gr??? I use weight sorted LC or WCC brass with that load and it'll do 1/2" out of my DPMS heavy barrel 9 twist.

Default well

What does 416.00 buy ya now? Milspec upper and lower, 16" CM 1-9" barrel in 5.56 (not chrome lined) with flash hider and low gas block, adjustable stock and a 30rnd mag. I remember 9 years(pre Obama) ago trading a similar DPMS with a "preban" flash hider and a std A2 stock for 700.00 plus a used Walther PPK 380 at a Market Hall gun show. Times have changed a little with no one running around yelling the sky is falling. Everything feels tight except the stock wiggles a little so it's time to take it apart, clean it up and go to the range. Anyone mess with breaking these in? DPMS make their own barrels? Usually on low end rifles I spend a little time breaking them in, high end stuff just shoot them. Going to be running some 55's through it with H335, if it will shoot 1" I'm done.....where's Mr. Mini??
