I have a couple of 22hornet cases modified for large rifle primers. I have never checked the velocity but they will kill the PD’s in my yard at 25 yards or less. I shoot it out of a 10” contender. The case has a dimple in the neck which locates the pellet in the neck. Very handy and quite. It makes less noise than my heavy springer pellet gun. I put together a kit consisting of a Lee primer seater and the depriming base. A pin punch and small hammer complete the kit.

Well Matt it was a super busy end to a hectic week and. Haven’t got time and although my vacation was suppose to start yesterday and run through a week from Monday it’s not looking like I’ll have much time to play.
I did step out on my deck and squeeze one off in the 218 Bee. There was no difference in sound or anything. When I get time I’ll run them both over the chrony. Those old shotshell primers spit some red spark stuff out the muzzle though. I will make another case and try a WMR primer for another comparison. Man it’s been years since I’ve played with these pellet guns

Shucks Rider out there I'd just use a HMR or such.
Here in town for cats I use the .17M2. Trouble is I've over shot the one I want to kill twice now. She watches and when I head for the door she's GONE! Need to adjust the scope. IT's one of those turret types and the knob can be bumped and moved a bunch and not know it. I think that's the problem. Been going to set a target in the corner of the back yard and shoot a couple. Keep putting it off. I have some .22 Aquila shells: no powder in 'em. They'll go thru 3 cat food can bottoms. Only noise they make is when the slug hits the cans. Might be a very faint click from the pin dropping. Bloemers wife took the screens off and shot a .22 mag from inside the room when they lived out there to control the p/dogs.

Buds gun show has NAA bullets, 30 grain that would be less likely to lead the barrel.

this might be a way to use up the couple thousand #57 shotgun primers I have. bought some time back at an auction.

Last time I tried .22 pellets in a centerfire, I had to "bump-up" the pellets for better fit & accuracy. Nothing fancy, I just "squished" them down a little. IIRC, the pellets measured .222 cal. If someone wanted to get serious about it, a simple die could be made. I was messing with a .22-250 & Lg Rifle primer only. Later, I removed the anvil from a fired primer & soldered a paper clip wire to it to make a scoop. A scoop of Bullseye would really launch a pellet, but it was way TOO LOUD!...LOL
