Default 17 AH Jackson Cooper 1st day at the range

I took my new Cooper Jackson Varminter to the range today. Weather was 82 degrees wind was head on at 12 mph and sunny. I took 30 newly loaded un-fire formed cartridges. I loaded 20 gr Dogtown HPs in front of 12.5 gr AA 1680 with small pistol primers. Bore sighted rifle first. Fired first 17 AH of my life. It was within of 3" of target I was shooting. I fired 2 more with the following results! First 3 shots 3617 fps, 3690 fps, 3663 fps. 1st shot clean bore.

I fired all 30 rounds without cleaning. This was the most I wanted to shoot with out cleaning barrel. Here are the last 5 shots 26-30! These 5 shots ranged in speed from 3597 fps to 3648 fps.

I think I got a keeper!!
I love the Jackson's sling swivel studs and lighter contour barrel. This is definately my walkin' rifle.

Bob

Default Scope

Scope is a Leupold Vari X III 4.5-14x40 with A/O. Size is perfect fit for this rifle. It has covered standard click turrents with duplex reticle. Bob
