Thumbs up 20 VT "short" range report.

Keep in mind that this is a 16" barrel on a bolt action Savage rear grip pistol. Groups are shot at 25 yards to get it on paper ans see how the reformed brass is working.
Got a few split necks so anealing is in order. No pressure signs.
Started off with AA2460 with 39 grain bullits.
Fired another batch with 32 grain Noslers and AA2230.
A little more felt recoil with the AA2230 compared to the AA2460.
5 shot groups with the 39 gr. Sierra Blitzkings and AA2460.
13.2= .212
13.3= .308
13.4= .181
One 10 shot group at .414.

Another batch with AA2230 and 32 grain Nosler Ballestic Silvertips.
12.5= .163
12.6= .126
12.7= .193
12.8= .313

Got one in possesion and another 25" Green Mountain straight pipe blank on the way.
One for the 20 VT and the other for the 20 VT "short". The "short" may get cut to 20". Still thinking on that. Both are for rifle stocks and bench shooting.
After the first few shots, I had a hard time wiping the grin off my face. Things are looking up and so far, no problems to deal with.
Brass problems? I expected that but I had to fire a few to see the results.
I make it a point to only take one shooter at a time so I can concentrate on the work at hand. Too many distractions and you don't get the results you went after.
No Chrony results till they all start going in the same hole. Longer barrels will probably make a big difference. And the longer (heavier) barrel won't move when it get a round down the pipe.
All in all a good morning at the range.
