From my recent experience with auctions of old firearms, the numbers of buyers are getting smaller and smaller.

Agree with hog patrol - less and less buyers or even lookers for older firearms including military arms. Plastic is what sells now.

My buddy talked about buying it, but he thought it would go for $8,000 or up. I thought so too. Most of the Hornets Sedgley made are on a 1922 Springfield.

In the past month or so the market is making a slow turn from being a seller's market back to being more of a buyer's market on some things, largely older and antique collectables. This came from a large Houston gun vendor near me that deals in old firearms of all kinds.

They are still needing and are almost begging for more modern day stuff, but older stuff sales are falling off. This place's motto is "10,000 gun or more". It's not a normal mom and pop store front.

And in case anyone is wondering, I didn't google this. It came from a long time good friend who works there and who knows me well dating back to 1989.
