Yeah- I forgot about W296 and H110 - both probably good in the squirrel. Doesn't Tod Kindler's "Sweet Seventeens" have data for the Squirrel using 296?

Also V110 is very accurate in the squirrel/ Mink cases. If I didn't have 10lbs of 296 Iwould shoot n110 exclusivly.

The first powder I tried was 296 and it performed ok and I'm sure top end speeds can be found with powders that share that burn rate.
I did however get a few flyers that I couldn’t explain other than perhaps powder being temp sensitive (it was averaging mid 20’s). Therefore I wanted to see if other powder loads presented the same results. I know this lil round will shoot since it will post three shot group hovering in the mid .3s and five shot in high .4s, low .5s if I do my part. The squirrel is a lot of fun. Now if I could find the cause of the occasional hiccup. Stephen Last edited by Stephen Grant; 03-18-2010 at 05:13 PM. |

W296 and H110 produce identical velocity and pressure in many ctgs. and in those, can be loaded gr. for gr. for identical results. How they fair in the Hornet case, I don't know.

Seems to me I've seen AA#9 used in the Squirrel. That so?

I have see data for that powder Daryl but haven't tried it yet.
I did shoot the H110 and 296 side by side last week and could tell they ran neck and neck by weight. |
