where to find red lens material.
Can anyone tell me what material to look for to cut my own red lens for night hunting or wher to get pre cut. Thanks Kenny

I have no idea if this will work,but there is a red Saran wrap that might be able to attached directly over a standard flaslight with a rubber band or 2 .

just buy a red cover, there cheap. the local gun store opened a drawer full and found one the right size to snap on over one of my lights on a cap... like $3.20 after tax....
dang it!! I should be out right now… urrrrr LOL

You need to find something that is fairly optically correct so that it does not disperse your light too far out of the beam. There used to be glass filters for optical color seperation printing that were very good, lighting gels like the above are intended for just your application and come in differing shades of red. Good luck, I may even be able to find a little chunk of red filter material laying around, I will send it off to you if I can locate some. Larry

Kenny I've used Dykem Steel Red Layout Fluid in a spray aerosol can.
I just spray the light lens, works good lasts long time. I think its around $10 a 16 oz can. I think I learned of this trick on the preditor masters site. Have fun. Steve |
