Posting pictures.
A question for Admin. or computer literate members.
Some members ( Me included) seem to find it difficult or impossible to post pics. If I want to advertise something for sale with a picture, on say, Gunstar/ Guntrader or ebay,I can either use a library pic from a PC, tablet, phablet or phone, or, take a pic with either device and upload it direct to a site of choice, very simple, even I can do it. (Cajun Blake might say, 'even a caveman could do it'). Question is, could Saubier adopt or have an option to post pictures this way? Thanks,Ken.

Kenbro every site I've seen doesn't it this way and has for years. You need to spend about five minutes with someone that is computer literate. It isn't hard.

The hard part for some of us is finding someone that WILL help.
I thought I had a guy found and had him come over to help copy a CD of MRI for me. He fooled around 55 minutes before doing it in the last five. Then got mad when I refused to pay him $30 just to copy ONE CD!! That's the problem I have. Don't know about Ken.

It's easy if you use a picture hosting site like photobucket then cut and paste the pictures URL here. If its a picture for the thread of discussion keep it on your hosting site for future use, if its a sale add pic you can delete it when its sold.
The cool thing about using a hosting site is that your pic is always there. You upload it once then just go back and get the addy for it. Unlike direct uploads to websites or forums where you have to do it each time. The cool thing about using a hosting site is that if your computer crashes, your links are still good and your uploaded pictures to the hosting site are safe. I think the reason forums have gotten away from direct uploads is for bandwidth reasons. Those uploaded files have to be stored somewhere vs. a link that shows up as a picture on the page. It is easy with photobucket, just click the gear icon on the picture you want and select get links. Then you can select the one that starts with [ I M G ] and ends with [ / I M G ] without the spaces and it should work on a lot of forums

I think you are right about the bandwidth issue. I asked Jim about posting so many pictures once and was it a bandwidth problem? He said "because the photo is actually stored at a hosting site" (In my case Photobucket), "there is no bandwidth hogged up here because the photo itself is actually at Photobucket". At least that's my version of what he said through the fog of Geezerhood .
If I can figure out Photobucket as computer challenged as I am even a freaking gerbil can figure it out . So there is definitely hope!
