Default cz527 question

Does anyone make a nice aftermarket walnut stock for the 527?

Default Stock

Not sure what type stock you're looking for, but if you've got a blank, RayH has a dandy of a pattern.

Really what style is it? I'm kind of interested in a classic varmint style and I could get a blank. What would it cost for a Smith to make one?

Thanks Adam already looked into boyds. Not huge on laminate and I shoot left handed so I don't like the comb on the stock. Do u make stocks from a blank?

Boy that's always a sticky one. From a blank, hand cut, minimum would run around $1000 plus blank. Now if you had a pattern stock and blank turned it would run you around $300 to fit and finish the stock. I would recommend Jacks Mountain Gunstocks. That's who rayH uses.

That makes it an obvious choice to just get a Cooper VE question solved. Thank you.

You might want to price a new stock from CZ-USA.

I'll second that! I have two that are about ready to splash some oil on em. I'll post pictures when they're complete.

Default CZ stock

Here are some pics of stocks that have oil on them. These came off Ray H's pattern that I had Mark Weider add 1" to the butt. First is my 17 Rem and second is a 17 Spartan (17FB .200 short), on the 17 Rem the forearm has been rounded a little as the pattern is flat. Third pic is of the stocks I had turned, the maple is now owned by a Saubier member. If you can do a lot of the labor you can come up with something pretty cheap like these. I don't have 50.00 in any of the blanks, add the cost to turn plus labor to finish.
