so true its really not much harder than any other state but lots of people are uninformed as are FFL's, regarding this.
Shipped a rifle last week and he returned it since it came from non FFL, he would only accept it from my FFL. Frggin moron cost me an extra $50.00.

I've set more than on FFL straight when it comes to the law.

This is not as unusual as you would think, even on Graybeard Outdoors the owner of the site will ban people for even suggesting that is OK to ship from an individual to a FFL in any state. A real shame, it just makes people spend money they don't have to spend. Larry

"My people perish for a lack of knowledge." Ain’t if funny, we grip about taxes, health care and government intervention but if every single person refused to send guns to California as well as any other gun related items then low and behold the gun owners would leave or overthrow the evil, stupid elected officials. This is the exact reason we have all the constitutionally illegal laws by the government of the US----we do not rebel. States rights are states rights and ifing you live in a communist state------love it or leave it. Me, I will not do any business with anyone in California.
Sorry for the tirade
Please have a safe new year’s celebration----we are going to our church to fellowship till another year----safe, sober and celebrating our Savior.

Default Long gun sales

When did the BATFE change the rules on interstate shipments of firearms? I'm an FFL holder and to the best of my knowledge if a firearm is being sold in interstate commerce, it must be shipped from an FFL holder to an FFL holder. A private party may ship a firearm for repair or customizing, but not for sale. If I am in error, please enlighten me with a proper link.

Yes, you are in error and they have not changed the rules. Here is what it says and where it says it.

Quote:
Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier?
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
Here is where is says it:

http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unli...ensed-transfer

Kind of scares me that an FFL holder would not know the rules.

nonlicensee= Me

licensee=You

And if it inside your state you can just put a rifle or shotgun in the mail to him. Larry

Last summer I bought a Charter Arms .38 (pos)
when it broke down I contacted them & was told to
"just mail it to us for repair".
The PO here refused to handle it at all, even with a quote C/A sent
saying it's legal to do so.
I shipped it by FedEx. In about two weeks with company here that is
another gunner friend. We'd been out in the shop for hours working &
came in for lunch several hours after the mail was delivered. I checked
the mail & found a flat rate box tossed on the front porch. Seeing it was
from them & knowing what had to be in the box. I had Mike open the box
as I figured sitting & watching me do it he still wouldn't believe it.
Sure as H, that's what was in the box!!
Not even a signature required. The box looked just like we've all used to
mail everything under the sun in.

I don't want to do business with anyone/firm that will take a gamble on my
freedom like that. It now belongs to someone else.
