Default Sako value

Can some of the Sako experts give me an idea of the value of a used Sako 461 (factory) single shot action? There are a barrel and stock included but these are of little value to me and both need to be replaced.

Thanks,

Default it depends

223 or ppc boltface, std trigger or target trigger? The repeaters with bottom metal show up NIB and go for 6-750.00, usually in the white. If it's a PPC action with the target trigger then probably close to 800.00.

Default Thanks

Thanks Chuck,

This is a 222 bolt face, 11 twist Shilen barrel in 17 Rem with a poorly checkered stock. I was interested in learning the value of the action only.

I appreciate the information.

Thanks,

Thumbs up

You don't see too many Sako actions out there as just an action.

For the most part, I've never seen anything less than $600 for just an action.

I purchased at a gunshow a similar action new in box, the little sako in single shot version. It came in a blue/white cardboard box. It is a 0.374 bolt face as well. When I purchased the action, I also purchased a #2 Douglas in the 224 bore, and a XXX bastone piece of wood inletted for the 461 single shot; but like some other things, have never put it together; but perhaps someday it will come to the top of the list.

I paid $400 for my action in box a few years ago. Today, I might put $800 on it and smile. The 223 action is fairly rare, hence today's unrealistic pricing by the resellers. I would think that you are entitled to some of the perseived increased value from original purchase.

The small head Sako single shot.......well, you will not see many of them in your lifetime............ever thought about stashing it for later? Will do nothing but go up........
