Default Winchester 22 Cal Projectiles

Hi All,
Has anyone used the Winchester Varmint Express 22CAL, 45GR, Hollow Point Projectiles ? I only ask as they are on special at a gunshop here in Oz and was thinking about buying some. I intend to use them in a 22 Hornet and a 222 just for rabbits and fox so need to know how they perform.

Pete

They work quite well if you are looking for an explosive bullet. They are not as explosive as a TNT or SX, but they work well. I have never handloaded them, but the Winchester White box .223 uses them on the varmint ammo. They were accurate in my 1-12 and 1-9 guns.

I agree. I have also used them in the factory 45gr HP Varmint Pak (40 rounds). I believe that ammo is made in Israel, and works were well in my Savage 1:9 BVSS-S, chronied 3529fps, and 3/8" for 5 at 100yds. hornet. Very destructive on PDs. They are not the same 46gr HP bullet as Winchester loads in the 22 Hornet silver box ammo. The 46gr HP in the Hornets works well also on jacks and ground hogs.
