Thought I'd give you an update on my case prep machine project.
I got the motors mounted, wired and operating. I made two more couplings on my drill press but are off center on the one end creating some wobble. I'll be starting over on them. (I have one coupling I made longer ago that I have been using. It'll be nicer to have at least two if not three shafts turning though. The direct drive shaft (I think 1800 rpm) will work to cut primer pocket crimps using the Hornady PP cutter but Ramos nailed it, the brass likes to be cut on my 177 rpm shaft. The 105 rpm was just slower than I care for and it just worked nicer at 177 for all case prep operations. I'm thinking that this will help my arthritic case prepping hands! Thanks for the advise and a special thanks to Ray who not only mentored me into purchasing those motors but also advised me not to get rid of them a few years ago when I was trying to clean out what I wasn't using.

Sounds like you are making good progress. The chuck will work fine, as long as it will take the biggest tool you want to use. Can't wait for the pictures. As for the arthritic hands, a functional power station has certainly helped me when working brass, especially when neck trimming.

Hello Gary. Don't know why nothing will open up on this new connection, but, compare that to what Enco sells, I saw quite a few smaller chucks fairly well priced. Take care of those hands, they won't grow back the same.

thanks Grorge!
I have a short video of the setup. If you want to see it Ramos send me an email. I don't have time to figure out my PB PW right now. Nothing fancy but works great!

minarik speed controller
10-12 years ago I came across a Minarik speed controller hooked up to a small gear motor and the thought hit me to make a case turning machine and this has been unbleviably successful. Variable speed, forward-reverse; had a adaptor made to fit the shaft and triming attachments (neck turn, chamfer-chaffer, polish powder burn from neck and other things you will find) Found this on E-Bay when I used to go there. About $50.00. Mounted it on a piece of black walnut about 14in. square, move where needed. Wouldn't sell for any price unless I stopped shooting and there's already a waiting list. Have to be creative!! Have fun guys!! Mack
