17 Bee ??
I picked up some brass at an estate sale.
They are 218 Bee, that have been cut about in half and then resized for .17 caliber. Any idea what these might be? I have about 8 loaded cartridges and maybe 20 pieces of brass. |

I swore I'd never build anything off a 218 case again but running Dan's 17 Killer Bee reamer in short would sure make a cute 17 Bumble Bee Imp.

There is; I am sure, a real need for the 17 bumble bee magnum.......... ...maybe a tenth longer? just for the extra speed.
I used to peruse Mashburns in downtown OKC when I was much younger. I have a 218 mashburn reamer for such remembrances as time permits, his shop was magical in those days. I have a 17 bumble bee on a No.1 chassis for some reason or other, guess always wanted a rifle in that caliber. |

A friend gave me a Winchester model 1885, low wall, that was made in 1888.
Was originally chambered for 32 long. Sometime in the 50's the barrel was bored and sleeved. Then re-chambered for the 218 Bee. I've loaded some rounds for it, but not yet shot it, as the weather here in Michigan is still quite chilly. |
