On the 17-222 set, the marking on top says 17-222 R.Mg. The R.Mg. may stand for Rem Mag, might want to ask that question if you're buying. Dies look new.

That's what I see as well, Ray. .17/.222 Rem Mag.

The form and trim dies are both .17/.222, though. They can be adjusted to work perfectly with the .22 Rem Mag case, of course.

Leopold Scopes, Forester reloading equipment and Victorianox knives.

I video recorded all of my Highpower Rifle matches. Pretty soon I am going to watch them all in reverse order so that I can watch those F Class guys GO HOME and leave us alone so that we can shoot Highpower Rifle.

I would agree the 17 222 dies do appear to be 17 222 Rem Mag dies.

Danny, I have to ask what is wrong with RCBS dies?

I notice the newer set of 17 Ackley Bee dies sold for $26 yet the early set are up around $52 is there a reason for that?..........Kiwi

I personally have noticed or observed, that RCBS dies I've had, oversize the necks of cases - as much as .008" smaller than they should be. This makes for more working of the necks and more drag when pulling the expander button out of the case.
I've also seen where a brand new set of RCBS dies, possibly made with a brand new reamer, would not size down a fired Winchester 6.5x55 case so it would hold a new bullet.
It worked with RP and FED brass, which had thicker neck walls, but bullet tension was not very high.
I also think their dies are overpriced compared to other makers.
Most of my newer dies today, are in red boxes.
I also have some Lee dies.
The only new RCBS die(s) I bought, was a 9.3x62 neck sizer die in it's own box.
