4895 the All Around Powder
As Unique is an all-around powder for cast bullet, shotgun, and most pistol loads 4895 is an all around powder for small up to large rifle cartridges. I see loads in my Sierra manual for 219 DW up to .458 win Mag, quite a spread of bullet diameters. I know I'm getting older but still using some of my Hodgdon military 4895 powder but so what. When I load H 4895 whether it be Scotch, Australia, or Zimbabwe it goes bang at a high rate of speed. I also have an 8 lb keg of IMR 4895 and several 1 pound cans all bought back in the 60's and 70's still work well. Ka-Pow. Any using 4895 in sub .22 cal loads?
