Ramshot xterminator and the 17 Fireball

i would like to get some info from those of you that have used xterminator in your 17 fireball. I loaded up a few rounds with 19.9 grains and a 20 grain vmax bullet. It was running 4,130 fps over the chrono. The bolt was a little bit tight to lift afterwards however there were no other signs of pressure. This load is under max according to everything that i can find. I plan on backing it down a tenth of a grain and trying again.

Also loaded up a few rounds with 19.7 grains of xterminator and a 25grain vmax. Those were coming across the chrono at about 3,970 fps with no signs of pressure.

These numbers are coming from my CZ527 Varmint that use to be a 17 Remington. I had Bob Green set it back to the 17 Fireball. The barrel length is approximately 23"

I would like to find out what loads others are running with xterminator in the 17 fireball.

Is the xterminator powder temperature insensitive? I got a pound to test too.

I have loaded a few Nagel 25gr with 19.ogr of XTerminator and they work well.

what kind of groups were you getting? what was the FPS?

Only shot one group after i got it sighted in and it was 3/4 inch and the speed was 3820fps.

TAC also works great. I used it with the 25gr VMAX and wow it'd blow the top off of a Ground Squirrel. Adam
