Default .223 with H335 question

I have a rifle with a 22" 1-9 twist coming and I have on hand some 50gr Vmax, 55gr V-Max, 60gr Nosler ballistic tips and some 69gr SMK to load and try out. Does anyone have a pet load to share and is there a ballistic program that should give the approx fps for 1550' elevation with the different loads? Thanks in advance.

52 Grain Horn BTSP with 25 grains of H335, out of a 26" barrel is doing 3254 fps. Above that load I start to see pressure signs. With the heavier bullets I actually prefer 4895 or 8208 as I get better velcoity, almost 200 fps more with no pressure siogns, lower SDs and better groups in my guns. The 8208 will meter just about as well as the 335. Let us know how you make out.

Default 223 and h335

My load is 26.5grs H335, Rem 7 1/2, and a 50gr Vmax, chronos around 3450fps. I developed this load to work in 4 different 223's and it's my main PD load, all barrel lengths are 24-26". Everyone was telling me it was heat sensitive, I guess I'll believe that when I see it. I shoot this load in everything from 45* to 100* + weather with no problems, I will say I developed this load in 90* weather, maybe that's why I have no pressure issues with it. This load will also interchange with WC844 which you used to be able to get in bulk pretty cheaply.

Default H 335 is as Good as it Get's in Small Base Cases

like .222 and .223. As far as one Posters concerns of heat sensitivity in using H 335 the powder has been used sucessfully by some in benchrest in NBRSA Southwest, Mid Continent, and Gulf Coast Regions, I would say heat sensisitive is no more concern with H 335 than using N 133. Powder loads, seating tension, and choice of primers are adapted to hot and sometimes humid Ranges like we find in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana. Shooters in all disciplines learn to adapt loads to the dailey changes in temperatures and humidities.

My load is 25.0g of H335 behind the 55 vmax. I think it chrono'd around 3150 out of my 24" barrel. That load grouped .85" @ 200 in my AR. Good luck...
