5 MM Craig
I have searched and did not find the info I was looking for hoping someone can help. I purchased the rifle Spook 1 (Great Guy 2 deal with) and am trying to find some load data.
This rifle has the 22 Hornet brass turned and I understand it has a little more volume than the turned brass. Thanx Jim |

I make my own brass from Hornet so it should be close to Craig's.
6 gr AA#9, 32gr V-Max, WW primers.. Very accurate in my rifle.. |

Old post, but the topic isn't stale to me.
I have two of the 5mm Remingtons, one each: 591 and 592 Remington. I have Schroeder bolt-heads on both of them for use with centerfire cases. I use Schroeder brass milled from .22 Hornet cases which have proven to be very good. One set I've reloaded 15 times so far and no failures yet. My favorite load is 6.0 gr of Lil Gun with either a 33gr VMax or 36gr Berger .20s. I get about 2100fps with either one, which matches the original 5mm Remington velocity. I could squeeze a bit more in the case for a compressed load, but I achieved my goal. The accuracy is superb and seems to be better than the new-issue 5mm rimfire rounds available on the market today. The little 5mm is my go-to for crows at 150yards or so when I can catch them on the ground. |
