I use a 550b for my .17ah. Using 1680, it meters spot on. Just makes it a quick task to load up a few hundred at a any time.

I have been using my 550B for years to load everything from 17M4, 221FB and 22Hornets up to 30-06 and even 458 WinMag. I usually neck size and deprimer only on my old Herters C press, then prime, drop powder and load bullets on the 550B. I do load 223Rem/5.56 fully on the 550B as a progressive for any 'blasting ammo' onthe AR's.

So what powder measure are you using? Dillon? And how do you drop it into that 17 neck?
Thanks |

I use the Dillon measure with the various powder bars to fit the cartidge/load/caliber. I use only ball powders or short cut stick powders. It works fine.

Another vote for the Dillon 550. I loaded 22H, 17FB and 204 by the multiple thousands on it. Benchmark, Lil'Gun and 8208 all throw great out of it. Very accurate ammo and WAY faster than a single stage press. I had full heads, with throwers set up for each of those three cartridges, so switch over was very quick and easy, plus no setup and adjustments.

Gopher, Dillon sells a powder funnel that fits their powder die for different calibers. Go to Dillon site to see all this.

I load the 17 Hornady Hornet, 19 Badger, .19-223, .19 Calhoon, .204 Ruger and .20 practical all on a 550C. I size everything on a Rockchucker and hand prime before I run them through the Dillon.
