Powder choices for 20PPC
Completing my build on the 20PPC. What powder choices using the V-Max,
32gr or 40gr bullets? Staying in the 3900 to 4000fps range. Thanks for any suggestions. |

Bob: You may have already checked Kindler's book and his 20 PPC loads, but in case.
He mentions Vihtavuori N-133, N-130 along with Hodgdon's 322, 4198, 322 & 4895. As you know his loads are HOT, so I would start lower. He seems to favor Hodgdon 322 & N-133. |

I have also had good luck with Benchmark and 8208XBR in the 20 PPC

[quote=JSH;306675]I looked at the 20 Nosler data just the other day. There was mention below that 20 Nosler brass was available.
After a bit of study it looked to me there was little to no gain over the 204 and more powder was used. I believe Nosler had the idea of the 22 Nosler being close to the 22-250 in results and it would work in an AR. But it seems to have fizzled out. |

20 ppc
I find like others have said that N-133, H322 and 8208 XBR work great with 39 and 40's, Tried several other powders but these seems the best for those pills. My 20 PPC shoots 55's lights out with Varget but Varget didn't do as well with the lighter bullets.
I'm puzzled as well about the 20 Nosler. Have yet to find anyone with experience with it. As Bill mentioned, Nosler rep's told me it was designed with AR's in mind so I'm guessing the load data is rather light for bolt guns. |

Thanks for the information for the 20 PPC. Didn't ask for information for the 20 Nosler
and its brass. |

Using H322 or VV N133 powders
Can anyone suggest a starting load with these powders with a planned max of 3900 fps.
Thanks, Chuck |

Chuck, Hornady Data site has 2520 and Tac listed with start loads in the area of 3800-3900 FPS, and 32 grn bullet.
If you can locate Kindler's 20 cal book, he has loads with these and the other powders listed. But, as he posts in his book, you want to reduce his loads and work up. If that does not work for you, give me a PM with your mailing address and I will copy some of his pages for you. |

28 grs of 8208 behind 40 gr vmax works for me with the usual caveats of course
