Default New Mexico 2016

My grandson Tim and I, along with my great friend Dave Hamrich, have been enjoying a great week of PD hunting in the area around Wagon Mound New Mexico. Tim has had a ball with a pair of 20Tactical rifles based on a M7 Rem and a sleeved XP-100. Both have Lilja barrels and both shoot the same load of H4198 and 32 Gr. Blitz Kings. We'll be leaving "The Land of Enchantment" for home on Wed. morning. I will try to get some pics to Charlie to post here.

My dad and I went elk hunting on a ranch outside Wagon Mound in the late 90s. Sure is pretty country thats for sure! Have there been lots of dogs out? Im hoping for a late summer dog trip to SE Colorado but dont know if I will get a chance to make it happen. Looking forward to some pictures!

Don't want to hijack the topic but L1986 what part of S.E. Colorado ? There has been several places doing poisoning operations and some plague loss. I have been down to the Campo area several times this summer and some of the larger PD towns are pretty slim now.

Lamar area. I was out in early May this year and it was pretty good. Haven't been back to the area since but hoping to. We went just a little early this year as it was a little to cool until noon or so and the pups were not out in full force but we still had a very good hunt and killed a lot of dogs!

Wide open spaces around Wagon Mound.

What's with the p/dogs in OK?? Last I was thru much of the state
there were lot's of 'em all over the place.

Dad used to claim: "The plague is the ranchers best friend when it comes to p/dogs"

Eddie, we had a great shoot this year over in the Mora valley & one day up near Maxwell, NM. Guide did a really good job of dodging thunderstorms & getting us on some hot shooting areas. Hope you always tell Dave hello for me. Thanks, Joe
