Default Reamer maker

If you wanted to order a custom reamer, based on your most recent experiences, who would you order it from? It's been 8 or 10 years since the last one I ordered, and am getting ready to order a new one. I would like to hear good or bad.
Thanks,
Drew

Default Dave Manson

I've always used Manson, so I have no one to compare with. I've always been treated well, so no need to change.

I've always used PT&G and had real good service. Sometimes a little slow but when you're good, you get loaded up with work.
Might not hurt to try someone else so you get a different opinion.

Never been lucky enough to need a reamer built. However, in the last few years the name that comes up time and again is Manson. Guys just seem to be tickled pink with the service, product and packaging. Hope to have a reason to call them at some point in time!

Default reamer question

I would use JGS again, they were not only quick, but followed my design requests to the letter, or in this case to the ten-thousandth of an inch as near as I can tell. the reamer came on time, and lubed for protection.

The one problem I had with the reamer is that when used it was used by hand and probably hardened the steel in the chamber to the point that it became slightly dull. I called they said send it back, and in a week I had a new one. You can't get any better than that as it was not a production level carbide steel reamer, just their standard "run of the mill" reamer material.

JGS listens, and makes it happen, and I was happy, just my 2 cents.

Do you use a lot of carbide reamers?

My last one was from JGS. Had been using PTG for a while. The service was much better with JGS. Emails were answered, phone calls returned, delivered on time, etc. Overall a much better experience. Would definitely recommend JGS.

Over one year ago I ordered a reamer off a company Specials page, gave my debit card # and waited...after two weeks went by and no money left my account, I emailed and was told 'The reamer is in front of me, on my desk right now'. Money never left my account and the reamer didn't arrive!
Last reamer I bought was ground to suit my own bulleted cases. Was told 12 to 14 weeks and it arrived on time.
My next one will also be ordered from D.Manson.
Ken.
