Mntngoat: I bought a used Model 43 Win in 218 Bee with a K-6 or K-8 scope on it in 1963. I paid $40.00 for it and they threw in two boxes ( 100 Rounds ) of Win 46gr HP`s. This was my first Centerfire Rifle and my first Varmint Rifle, and the first Rifle I ever bought with my own money. I still have it and shoot it often. I have a 6 X 18 Old Denver Redfield on my rifle now. I have shot this rifle 1000`s of times and carried it 100`s of miles over the years and it will still shoot an Inch or less at a 100yds. I have without dought shot a Boxcar load of every Varmint you can thing of with it over the last 54 years. This little rifle is definitely one of my all time favorite Rifles. I hope that Starline Brass will start making 218 Bee Brass in the near future, that would be great wouldn't it. They IMHO sure make fine Rifle & Pistol Brass. And they are very nice people to deal with.

Let's hope the Hornady brass gets out there in decent amounts. I've got about 700 brand new and 500 used brass, but I'd still like to get more.
Ken - I just took my 43 out for ground squirrels the other day: Eric |

Thanks Matt!
I ordered some ammo and brass a couple of days ago from Midway. I have #300 brass and #50 ammo set to arrive on Friday. Ammo is OOS at Midway, but can be found elsewhere. $32.29 for #25 isn't terrible, but it looks like the 45 grain Hornady HP Bee bullet, which is not the best for ballistics past 100 yards. I just hope it's not crimped. Eric |

even have a rifle for it.Years later I stumbled on a nice used Ruger 1S and bought it,funny thing was it had a bunch of loaded ammo with it too. Very fun gun to shoot pd's with. Matt

I don't have a bee but those prices don't sound bad for an obscure cartridge. I have a 22 hornet and was browsing a local shop and the price was 89 for a box. Memory isn't great if it was 20 or 50 rounds. Either way its robbery.
