Default Rem. shotgun recall.

Remington is recalling all Model 887 shotguns manufactured between 1st Dec. '13 upto 24th Oct. '14.

Recall was started last December. Problem was/is slam firing.

LOL - 835's to be exact.

Actually, I really like the M870's - fast firing and reliable. Wonder what was wrong with the 887?

For those that don't want to wear their typing finger out by going to the Remington website, here it is: Due to a fault in manufacture which causes the firing pin to bind as the bolt closes, the user may experience a dangerous 'Slam fire'
You can check your gun by going to the Rem. website and inserting your S # into a special program.

Slam fires on them are real, there are several videos out there showing it happening.

Borrowed an uncles OLD shotgun once and it slam fired on me.
Damned scary deal, had it pointed off in the brush so no harm.
Good to know, I'd read about it in one of the rags awhile back.
