Scope Rings
Does CZ make a low height set of rings for a 527 or what could you use to be lower than a standard set of CZ rings. THANKS HORNET

Burris
Burris makes a set of Mediums and considering it takes a set of highs to clear the older rifles bolt I doubt CZ will make mediums, much less lows. The newer rifles, at least the 17HH I have uses the new bolt design. The 17 Rem, 221FB, and 223 I own have all had the bolt handles swapped out and even then Mediums are close. I use Talley, Burris, and Warne on those. Just not a fan of the CZ ring look and finish and I'm even eyeing the Warnes....too clunky.

IME the lowest 527 rings are the Warnes; Millett allegedly made some that were lower yet, but hey, they were Millett. Leupold is another maker of C-Z ringmounts. Some "mediums" are as high as the C-Zs, so beware. Midway, I believe, has a fairly accurate chart that shows the various heights from all manufacturers, and a Google search will find some info but some is flat wrong and some out-of-date.
As Chuck pointed out: having the updated bolt handle is a must. Otherwise, a person will just be peeing on the wind, as the handle will hit the scope's ocular bell. |

Going "Low" on a 527
I went through this same issue a while back with my CZ 527 221FB.
After much research in the matter, I discovered the lowest set of rings available for these rifles is the Hunker Rings available from James Calhoon. These rings will put the scope a full .125" lower than any other "Low" ring set available at this point in time. They look good, are very well made, and were just the thing for my 40mm Leupold VX-2 4-12X on the Fireball. If there's another option to go lower on the CZ, I'm not aware of it, and these rings are light years ahead in the quality Dept. compared to anything Millett has ever offered (never again!).
