Dont know about IMR 4227 for 17A/H but people on this site use it i do have some to try but not got down to it yet but IMR 4198 in my A/H is another story 12gr,s( c ) in a unformed R&P Case ( the largest capacity case i use ) with 20gr heads goes over the 3,700ft/sec that my rifle likes but same load with Hornady 25gr H/P,s shoots to the same POA out to 150yds as my main load with 11.4gr of 120 with 20gr Noisler but hits a little lower after 150 compared with the point blank zero of 175yds for the 120. Dont know the speed cause my mate put a 45gr 22H hole in my crono but thats the load i use now to F/F untill the powder is finished.

Hodgdon's site lists a starting charge of 8.5 gr IMR 4227, and a max charge of 9.2 grains, using a 20 gr bullet, no listing for 25's. High end speed of just over 3200 FPS.

4198 starting loads ...11.5 grains up to 12.5 gr compressed, with top speeds up to just over 3600FPS

Hope that helps.

Larry
