Default Resurrection.....

Thought I would resurrect this thread after seeing Alan's Mopar and his dads Firebird 'vert. Surely we have new guys with cars and guns!!!

Kiwishooter, where are you on the '69 stang?

Little progress on the '69 Vert, everything on the front end is new, all Moog components, 1" sway bar, heavy coils, new rear leafs, shocks, tires, American Racing period correct Torque Thrust D wheels and Michelins. Drives great, somehow I wish it didn't, can't bring myself to start on the body and paint while she's driving.

Default My car stuff

Wow, cool thread Chuck.

My cuda and Dad's 68 Firebird 400 convertible. I am surprised your Camaro has a white top with red/ black interior, is that factory?

Here is our racecar, currently running in the 8's in Canada

My son driving our 1965 Fury III 440 with 4.30:1 gearset, turning 295-50-15's

Me taking the picture, Watkins Glen, got to hang in the GARAGE all day raceday 4 years ago, just after the pict I helped the guy in front of me run the generator onto pit row. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I showed friends the pictures and video of my friend tuning Kurt's #2 car.

Default Mopars

http://These are the only things that even rival my fondness for small calibers. The GTX is gorgeous (wish I had it), loved the 71 Cuda, and the Fury also. Thanks so much for sharing. I will try to find a photo of my father's car and share. 70 Cuda Limelight, 440 6 pack Shaker. Purchased by him new, still mostly original and gets about 200 miles/year put on it.

Default guns and cars

H595NUT, nice 6pk Cuda, that has to be my favorite Mopar color. Allen original color was Lemans Blue, white interior. Previous owner took it to MAACO for a gorgeous 300.00 paint job(found the receipt in the glove box)and used Marhyde to paint the interior. Car has 133K miles on it, I've owned it since 1999, paid 5K for it out of the Dallas Morning News classifieds. Felt like I was being taken to the cleaners but I was tired of looking for one, so.....Not easy finding a rag top with good floorboards.

Bought this in Oct ’13 with 15,400 actual miles on the odometer. I now have 96,000 and she is still going strong. 140 mph is the max I have had it but needed to go change my drawers---it still had a lot more throttle. Put about 15K worth of mods on it and it takes most Vets, Camaro’s and of course the Mustangs. Not all but most. Never been beat but another pickup. Just the thing for a 67 yr. old to be driving---only wish I had gotten one when they first came out.

Interesting Chuck, most call that "resale red", and dad's firebird is supposed to be an aqua-blue color. I had a hand-me-down 1964 Lemans 326 HO in Aqua-marine, bought it from Dad for $1000 ( 1975), couldn't do much of a burnout, added air shocks, then a Turbo 400 3 speed ( had the 2 speed tranny) and then a 389 out of a Bonneville 4 bbl, smoked them like the Fury did.

You can see the burgandy on the Cuda's right front fender tip, from the Pearl cherry in the paint. It is Imron, vintage 1977 ( senior year of my friend-and Me) paint job. It was from Citrus Heights if anyone grew up there.

I was a GM guy until I got my Hemi car. Dad has always been jealous how the Cuda's value is more than his Firebird, lol. They only built 488 440 Cuda's with automatic transmissions, vs 10,000+ firebirds and even more Camaro's.

Default mutt

I must be a mutt, started with Mopars, a 68 GTX with a 440, then a Dart 340 Swinger. Morphed into a Ford guy, 67 GT 390 Fastback and the Tiger. Took a foray into English sports cars, probably led by the Tiger, had 4 E Types at one time. Raced Mazda RX3's in Solo II until they outlawed the rotary's. Segued into Jeeps and old P/U's and ended up with Vettes, Camaros, and Chevelles. I have reformed considerably though, down to 4. The Tiger, Camaro, Datsun 2000, and a Porsche 356 kit car. Honest, I am getting better.

I forgot a few muscle cars.

I also had a 1960 Sanger V drive with a Mondello built 392 hemi ( sold it and the Torino to pay for the Cuda), and a 1970 Ford Torino with the 351 Cleveland 2 bbl that came with a 1960 Dorsett fiberglass fishing boat. And my high school first vehicle was a 1956 Chevy 1500 with a 283, before upgrading to the Lemans. I had hoped my 74 Challenger would be my retirement project, but almost a year into retirement I need to move away from guns and back on the Challenger when the weather warms up. I am just about finished with a new shop, so room will be available to take parts off the car.
