223 k&m ??

I just purchased a Sako A1, single shot action, set up as a BR rifle, with a barrel marked 223 K&M.

I have never seen the K&M before.. does anybody know if this is a variant of the 223?

This was from an estate sale.. so nobody could ask the previous owner.

perhaps this is the gunsmith that did the chambering. I have several rifles marked with the gunsmith directly behind the stamping.

No.. the Gunsmith that installed the barrels, put his mark on the other side.

I have sent him an email, but have not gotten a reply back.


I purchased two single shot Sako action rifles. AI & AII, with heavy stainless barrels and laminated BR stocks, and the Sako Target trigger. Man, I swear its down in the 2-3 oz range.

The serial number dates them back to 89-91, when I belive you could purchase just the actions.

There is a company that builds tactical rifles called K&M. The designers name is Ken McAllister and he does a lot of rifles in 223/556. He may have chambered the rifle thus the K&M.
