My wife and son are both permanently disabled and were on SSI. The money was a huge help for several years. Then one day I get a letter that stated they were no longer eligible due to owning too many assets. The only thing different is that in the phone interview earlier that month the man had asked if I owned any firearms. Ostensibly to see if I had too many assets. This ended our use of the federal program. It literally caused us to use up the little savings we had and we ended up losing the farm over it. Not complaining as God used it to move us on but at the time it sure hurt.

Never talk to any paper shuffler who calls up to ask something. "I will have my attorney get back to you". Sad it has come to this.
