WTB 17 Fireball brass
I plan on making some from .223 I have, and I know about high plains brass, but wondering if anybody has some 17 fireball brass.
Thanks. Andy |

I just made a batch of 221 fireball cases from LC21 brass just to see how well I could get it to work. It could be a solution if factory FB cases became extinct, but it wouldn't be my first option.

Did they work well or is it something you have to fiddle with a lot to make work?

I loaded up some of the formed cases and took the rifle and ammo to the range.
The smallest group I shot was just a fuzz over a 1/2" and the 40 gr. Vmax bullets were stepping out at 3650 fps. I was plagued by fliers on a couple groups. When I got home I think I found the culprit, I had inadequate neck clearance on the loaded rounds. I neck turned a few cases and loaded more ammo with the same recipe for a trip to the range tomorrow. The rifle is a CZ527 with a factory barrel. |

Andy,
I have some Remington UMC factory ammo in 17 Fireball with the 25 grain JHP. Let me know if you are interested in buying it. You could shoot it and use the brass again to reload. |

Hey fellas. I appreciate the responses.
I actually went to a small gun store where my folks live and found several boxes of HSM 17 fireball dressed in R-P brass and 20gr vmaxes. 50 rounds for $60. I thought that was a good find. I'll go back and get the rest as when I go through. |

You should have bought more of it, while you were there, then you would know you have it and not be gone, when you return.

I would have. Wife goes in for another knee replacement and money's just a little tight. It'll be there.

Wife and family come first, for sure. Glad some will still be there for you.
