22 Rimfires - Most accurate
I made the mistake of cleaning and shooting and cleaning a 22 rifle that I a sold to a guy just to be sure it works. Suddenly, I don't feel like giving it up. Oh well, that's a little beside the point. A deal's a deal.
That, plus watching Tom Knapp put a 22 bullet through the center of a washer he threw into the air, got me wondering about a good single shot plinker in a falling block variety. I would like an accurate rifle like that. Looking around, all I see are old ones. Do any of you folks have any recommendations?

That was quite the shot..
I just picked up CZ Varmint, topped it with a Weaver T6, Brooks trigger kit. By far my favorite little shooter in .22lr. The feel is excellent, very balanced with good heft, and the target dot with turrets really allows precision out to max range. The fit and finish is also very nice, the action design has its own charm..baby mauseresque. Not the charm of a single shot with a thumb cocked hammer though, but nice all the same. |

Thanks AK....I sort of have my heart set on something in a falling block. I don't even know if one is available anymore.
I recorded that entire series of Modern Marksmen. All of those guys were just impressive beyond words.

Definitely getting closer. But, I think you are right. I don't think it was made in a rimfire. You should just buy that one and re-barrel it to a 17m4.

Steve, CPA rifles make a nice Stevens 44 1/2 in 22RF, even chamber for the 22 short.

Thanks.
Those are nice. A little pricy, but very nice work. I like the switchbarrel 22LR and 45-70 model. That's a combo you don't see everyday.

Steven- I could recomend several good bolt guns if interested. You could also go to (Rimfire.com). A good source for rimfire info. Good luck Allen
