Default Tikka 17 rem at the range

Took the 17 Rem out today with some 30 gr Berger bullets for use on some yotes. Used some Win 760 powder and some CCI primers. Only issue was primers with a middle of the road book load. However I do have one load I will be working on to perfect.

I had a Tikka 595 I sold to someone in Sherwood Park Alberta and saw a while back he had it for sale on cgn .... your in Alberta. Wondering if you got it? I harvested my first rifle coyote with that gun. Ridiculously accurate.

EDIT: I see its pacnor barreled. Wonder if its the one that was on ProphetRivers website a while back...

Default 17 rem

What cci primers are you using? I tried some 400s in my cz with varget and 30 gr kindlers and they pierced with a mid range load. Went to rem 7.5 and havent had any other issues.

This 595 came out of Saskatchewan and the guy said he was the only owner. I had a factory 595 17 Rem HB that I sold to a guy that had a sports shop in Sherwood Park. Tried to buy it back a couple years ago bu was denied! Wish I never sold it to him!

Either way is seems to shoot. I was using CCI 400. Will try to go to 450 or 7.5's. Load that blew primers was another .5 gr hotter but still in the middle of the range.

I had a 595 but sold it due to it having a 10 twist. Are you getting those 30 grain groups with a 10 twist?

Yep, I'm @ Sherwood Park, had alot of 595's but they were all re-sold privately. They were all Master Sporters (2) 22-250's, (2) 308's (1) 223
They were all were in excellent condition with no miles on them.
I had alot of money into each one and with the introduction of the new T3 SPORTER the value of the 595 was dropping. So I got out from under them.

I've since purchased T3 Laminate Sporters (one)223 1:8 and (one)260Rem.
Both of these are fabulous rifles with great stocks and love that set trigger.

I think the fella went by hotshot on cgn that bought it. There was another guy from the same general area that was hot for it too but one answered the phone first after saying ill take it. I might have the names mixed up but pretty sure he bought it. Id love to find another one or one in the older 55 with heavy barrel.
