Default 50mm objective on a cz

Any of you guys mount a 30mm tube with a 50mm objective on a 527 varmint? If so what rings did you use for clearance and do high rings make the set up too high? Just curious, thanks

High Millet's if they make 30mm rings might clear, if they make a 30mm set.

Does your CZ have the newer bolt handle mod”?
Google “CZ-527 Bolt Handle Mod” for more info than you want…

CZ does make a 30mm ring, for the 527, CZ stock number is 119112, 0.550" The height.

The critical measurement is how large the eyepiece is and if the bolt handle will clear the eyepiece. As Larry said, they recently changed the bolt shape, to allow more clearance for the larger eyepieces on newer scopes.

I have a calhoon bolt handle on it. I just wanted to make sure the set up will work before I go ahead with it. I was hoping someone had one mounted up that could verify for me.

I had a 4 X 12 50mm Swarovski on my 17 HH for a while. It was not a 30mm. It was a 1". I used the rings that came with my CZ Varmint. It worked great. Hope this helps.

The bigger-diameter Varmint barrel will eat up some of that space between barrel and scope. But, the bigger 30mm tube will require less ring height than a 1" tube will; i.e. an American will need less ring height than a Varmint, but a 30mm will cut that need a little.
At any rate, I'd still go with "highs" to be safe. In fact, I just tried to mount a side-focus 1" 50mm on my 527 Varmint with .540 high ringmounts and the barrel was just touching; if I go to the .555 factory highs, the very most clearance will only be .015". Might end up going to a d.i.products pic rail conversion (not my favorite look on such a rifle) for more height flexibility with Weaver-type rings.
So, high rings and a 50mm objective shouldn't stick up as high above the barrel on a Varmint as it might on an American, even with a 30mm scope. Keep in mind you might lose a little cheek weld with the 50mm objective, but it shouldn't be that much with the straight, fairly high comb of that stock.

I had a Clearidge XP5 4.5-22x50 30mm on a CZ 527 varmint with Kevlar stock. I used Leupold high rings and it just cleared with the old bolt. However I had to shave a little off the bottom of my Butler Creek flip up covers to make them work. However, the scope seemed to be too big and bulky for the gun. I have switched to a Bushnell 6-24X40 with 1" tube in Warne high rings and like that combo much better.
The 527 is a scaled down rifle and the big scopes seem to overwhelm it.
Hope that helps.
